Brielle 5 months

Here we are and Brielle has turned 5 months while we are in NB. She is really enjoying her vacation here on the East coast.. She is not really a fan of all the rain that she has encountered here.. She really wasn't able to spend much time outside.. Next summer hopefully we will have more sun when we come..

 While in NB we visited Fredericton, the city where her Papa and Mama met many years ago.. While we were there we took her to Papa's favorite restaurant, the Dip.. We went for lunch, before heading to the Prospect Inn to meet up with Auntie Erica and Sebastian.. There she got to meet Grammie Brenda and some of the other ladies at the Inn..

 We spent lots of time with her Great Nanny Richards that is 87 years young.. It is so special to have the chance for her to meet my Nanny.. She is very special to me.. She just loves Brielle to pieces..
 She got to meet Nanny Laura.. She was my childhood neighbour and she always treated me like one of her Grandkids.  

 We got to visit Saint John.. We went to the Library book sale, where Papa bought Brielle lots of French children books.. Which are very hard to find in Ontario.. We visited the Market and had lunch.. She loved Market and Brunswick Squares... She was talking to everyone while we walked around.. It was very nice to show her, even though she is 5 months, where I am from and the memories that I have as a child..

 She had some very nice visits from family members.. She got to meet her 2nd cousins Oliva, Chole and Tyler.. Her 2nd and 3rd cousins Allyson, Tara and Hanah.. Auntie Rhoda and Dustin and Auntie Shannon.. Her 2nd cousins Robyn, Vanessa and Cory. Great Aunties Lynn, Fuffy and ChaCha.. Great Uncle Brent and many more..
 Today she was Baptised at St. Pauls Anglican church in Oak Point.. It was a special service as there was a dedication to Rev. Cody who was a Reverend back in the early 1900's. Laura Walker also had her little boy Choen Baptised, he is just 9 weeks old.. So small.. Brielle's sponsors are Jesse, Cortney and Erica.. The Church sponsor is Heather Machum.
 Auntie Rhoda threw a very special party at the Legion after the service.. We had some visitors there to meet Brielle.. She soon grew tired and had to go home and have a nap.. She had a very long day, but it was a special day so that is ok..
Brielle has grew a lot in the past month, with her growth she has developed more likes and dislikes..

4 month Shots and some :)

Well Brielle survived her 4 months shots today.. She took them like a trooper only crying for a little bit after the 2nd shot.. She is doing well and the Dr has no complaints.. She is 13lbs and 12 oz and just about 25 inches long.. She is a tall little girl..
She is now eating cereal.. We started with rice and now we are onto oatmeal. She likes it a lot better.. She gets it for breakfast and at bedtime.. She eats about 1.5 tbsp.. The Dr has saod to start veggies when she is 6 months, but I think that she will start them at 5 months and some.. She is vert interested in food.. We sit her at the table with us while we eat dinner and she watched every move.
We are preparing for our trip out East.. We leave 1 week from today.. Our flight is out of Hamilton so we are staying the night before so we do not have such a long drive the day of the flight.. We are flying into Moncton and wil have a 2 hr drive to my parents house.. So it is nice to not have to rush the day of..
It is so hard to tink of what I need to pack.. For the weekend it is ok.. But for 2 weeks... OH my.. lol

Unbreakable?????

So when you go to the store and purchase at set of Corell dishes you expect them to last you a lifetime, like the box explains... Even on the bottom of each dish it says break and chip proof.. We we have come to learn that this is not true.. This am while Philippe was putting the dishes away he dropped a bowl... Well the non breakable bowl is now in 250 pieces on the floor.. So much for the break, chip proof..

The past month :)

 On Monday Brielle will turn 4 months old.. She has been growing so much it is crazy.. She now can hold her head up completly by herself.. She is able to sit and support herself in the bumbo chair.. With a little added support by blankets she is able to play in her excersaucer.. She really enjoys all the toys on there..

She has moved up in size in her sleepers.. She is now wearing her 6 months as she is to long for the 3 month ones.. I am not sure of her weight as she doesn't got for her Dr's apt until the 28th, where she will recieve her 4 month shots ( oh how I dread the shots)..  

During her 3rd month she was a very busy girl.. We took her to Niagara Falls where we stayed 2 nites in the hotel.. this was a very fun visit.. We headed over the border to Buffalo NY, where we did some shopping and took her to Wegmans Market..

Her Auntie Erica and little Sebastian came to visit.. They were here for a whole week.. We did lots of shopping in Michigan and did lots of dinning out.. Not that Brielle got to enjoy the eating part.. But Sebastian did take part in the eating part when he discovered that he really enjoy refried beans in Mexicantown..

When Auntie Erica and Sebastian left we had to drive them to Toronto.. We took this as an advantage and stayed for a couple of nites.. It was to cold to venture downtown and do walking, but we did hit the mall and did lots of walking there..

About 2 weeks ago Brielle found her voice.. She no longer coos and awhss she is more of a shreaker and a growler.. She especially like to talk when we are out shopping.. She loves to "sing" with the over head music.. She can talk for up to 15min straight.. Right now she is in her crib talking to her mobile..

She is very addicted to her fingers.. She loves to suck on them all the time.. She even talks with them in her mouth..

She is now eating more.. She is up to 5oz per feeding.. Last nite I tried cereal and she like it.. It took her a couple of tries to tell if it was going to work for her.. Hopefully tonite will work as well..

She has almost mastered grabbing her feet.. She is able to grasp toys and really loves playing with her links and bumble bee on her car seat..

She has learned to go to bed at nite without Mommy having to put her to sleep.. She will go to bed and listen to music and fall asleep.. For the most part she is still up at least once a nite.. Sometimes 2 times.. And there is the odd time where she will sleep all nite.. She no longer sleeps with Mommy and Papa.. Which is a great thing..

Soon we will be getting ready for a very anticipated trip to NB to visit my family.. Everyone is very excited to meet Miss. Brielle.. She is like a superstar :)

That is all I can think of for now.. Hopefully it won't take me as long to update next time.. It is a task that I need to complete more..

3 months

Today, Brielle is 3 months.. I can`t believe it!! It still seems like yesterday that we came home form the hospital with her...
 She has grown a lot in the past 3 months.. When she went to the Doctor on Feb 28 she was 10lbs 13oz and 23.75 inches.. She also had her 2 month shots on that day.. Wow I have never in my life seen a person turn so red.. I had to be there with her, as Philippe does not like needles, so I had to help "hold her down". Poor little girl :(
 She can now hold her head up all buy herself and she can roll from her tummy to her back.. This morning I put her on her playmat on her back and the next the I knew she was on her side.. So, she is trying to roll from back to tummy..
 We have been sleeping her on her tummy.. I know that she is supposed to be sleeping on her back, but she just does't sleep well like that.. Since she has been sleeping on her tummy she is waking up less in the night.. We have pretty much gotten her into a routine. Bedtime is usually around 7-730. Sometimes we have to put her ot bed at 630 if she is really tired.. We give her a bath every other night and that follows  bottle and a story.. She is getting pretty good about going into her crib and falling asleep on her own.. She then usually doesn't wake up until anywhere in between 12 and 2.. Which I think is pretty good.. She eats and goes back to sleep until about 7...

I am glad that she has more likes then dislikes.. She is a pretty content Baby :)

The Ending of Co-Sleeping

So as I posted early this month I was scared that Philippe and I were going backwards in the sleeping area.. Brielle was sleeping with us for most nights.. Sometimes it was for just a little part of the night and sometimes it was all night..
Well since returning from SSM we have only allowed Brielle to sleep in our bed if she wakes up for a 6am feed.. Usually by this time she is not really ready to go back to bed so it is nice to have cuddle time with Mama and Papa..
She has been really good with sleeping in her bed for naps and during the night.. We have been blessed with a good sleeper.. I hope that it stays that way :)

11 weeks today

Well our Baby Girl is 11 weeks today.. I am so amazed how the time passes.. She is doing very well.. She sleeps well at nite with sometimes only waking once or twice to eat.. She has started a new thing where she does not want to nap during the day.. Which leads to a very overtired baby in the evening.. Which I will take as long as she goes to sleep and sleeps well during the nite..
We have discovered that Bath time is one of her Favorite things to do.. She like it so much that she cries bloody murder when she gets out.. I feel that she is going to be that child at the beach that you always see that is crying to not get out of the water when it is time to go..

Trip Up North

So last weekend we took a trip un North to visit with some Family Friends.. IT is about a 6 hour drive.. I was a little bit nervous with taking Brielle in the car for so long, but she amazed us.. She pretty much slept the whole time.. She was a little cranky when we got there.. But that was expected since she was sitting in the car seat for so long.. She did fabulous for staying in a new environment.. She slept well the whole time there..
I can`t wait to take her to NB.. We will be flying so it won`t be as long.. But it will be a different type of trip!!

Happy Valentines Day :)

So, this is Brielle's first Valentines Day.. Not much you can do with a 2 month old, but we did go for a walk in the nice weather.. Dressed her up and took a photo of her so we can always remember her first Valentines Day..

2 months :)

So we have made it two months as parents, and I think that we are doing a pretty good job.. Philippe is off work now until September and it is great having him home.. He is very helpful with the housework, Brielle and everything else.. He is a great Papa..
I can`t believe that Brielle is 2 months.. I still feel like I am in my own little world.. She is perfect in every way.. I can`t compain.. She does have some fussy times but what Baby doesn`t..
She is probably about 10.5 pounds now ( we weighed her on the bathroom scale).. She is now wearing 3 month clothing.. We just had to go buy her some little hosue outfits.. I feel bad that all she has to wear is sleepers to have a lazy day.. She few little outfits, but like any person, who likes to get dressed up all the time.. So we got some oneies and little leggings to wear around the house..
She has learned to smile and laugh.. It is the cutest thing ever.. She especially likes to laugh at her Papa.. She is trying more and more everyday to make talking sounds..
She has gone from a baby that hates to have her diaper chaged.. The kind of baby that would scream to a baby that laughs and smiles..
She loves to have a bath... She just doesn`t like to get out.. She hates leaving the water and getting dried off..
She loves to hang out in her swing.. When she is fussy it is one of the only things that will help her settle..
I in a way feel that we have gone backwards in one area.. When Brielle came home from the hospital she went directly into her own room in her crib.. Now that Philippe is not working when she is cranky we allow her to seelp in our bed.. Never thought that I could be a co-sleeper, but it works.. Sometimes it is just for the first half of the night and sometimes it is all night.. But it worls and she still goes in her crib so I think we will be ok.. I just fear that she will not want to sleep in her crib if we allow her to sleep with us to much..

Long time no post!!

So it had been forever since I have last made a post.. I was almost done work which was abut 8 weeks ago.. Crazy I know..
I gave birth to Brielle 1 week after I was done work.. Giving me just enough time to get all the stuff ready for her arrival.. It was a surpirse, but I guess I saw it coming with all the signs..
So far the life with a new baby has been alright.. She is a very good baby, who like to eat and sleep.. I can`t complain so far.. She likes to listen to music, play on her mat and swing in her swing..
We have ajusted pretty good.. I thought that I was a person who "needs" 8 or 9 hours of straight sleep, but I do pretty good on broken sleep.. Brielle often sleeps for 4 hrs at a time so it works..
Philippe is starting his parental leave as of today at 3pm.. He is very excited to be home with Brielle and I.. I can't wait to have some extra hands available to help with all the chores..
